Matthew Goinz

Musician, theater artist, and educator Matthew Goinz is thrilled to return to Arrow Rock for his second season, this time as music director for “Grumpy Old Men” and “Come From Away”. Matthew is the Music Director, keyboardist, arranger, and producer for rock “popera” sensation Mad Gallica. He is the co-founder and artistic director of “The Sound Between,” a storytelling ensemble dedicated to creating bold, inclusive, and original ensemble art that celebrates the richness and diversity of NYC. Matthew enjoys an eclectic career based in NYC – some of his recent credits include performances at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, National Sawdust, Brooklyn Academy of Music, Washington National Cathedral, 54 Below, the Guthrie Theater, Arrow Rock, and Vanguard Theater. He holds a doctorate in conducting from the University of Maryland and lives in West Harlem with his incredible partner – actor, singer, and crossover artist Sophie Amelkin – and their perfect beagle, Lucy. He is a proud member of AFM Local 802, AGMA, and AEA and considers himself a pretty good cook. tsbensemble.org • mt-tracks.com • matthewgoinz.com • IG: matthew.goinz
