CASTING ANNOUNCED FOR THE ARROW ROCK LYCEUM PREMIERE OF DISNEY AND CAMERON MACKINTOSH’S MARY POPPINS

The Lyceum Theatre’s 2018 Season opens on June 6.

Arrow Rock, MO – Casting is now complete for the Lyceum premiere of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s high-flying spectacular Mary Poppins. The musical, playing from June 6–June 17, will be directed by Len Pfluger (Beauty and the Beast, 2017), choreographed by Josh Assor, and musically directed by James Woodland.

Lyceum favorite, MALLORY HAWKS, returns to Arrow Rock to play Mary Poppins. Mallory has played Mary in the original cast of Disney Cruise Line’s Disney’s Believe. Her Lyceum appearances include Jo in Little Women, Esther in Meet Me in St. Louis and Essie in You Can’t Take It With You, among others. Off-Broadway and New York credits include Seussical (Lortel), String (New Dramatists, Playwrights Horizons) and Sam’s Room (NAMT, NYTheatre Barn/The Cell). She can be seen in several commercials, most recently Bud Light’s “Dilly Dilly” Pit of Misery spot. Playing Bert, BRIAN OGILVIE will revisit the show that gave him his Broadway debut. He danced over the rooftops and understudied both Bert and Robertson Ay for two years.  Also on Broadway: Something Rotten, and Gigi. Other credits include Spike in Vanya and Sonia… (Riverside Theatre), the title character in Tarzan (Arvada Center), and Buzz in South Pacific (Papermill). Brian also appeared on TV in HBO’s True Blood and Syfy’s Happy!

Making his Lyceum debut playing Mr. Banks, BENJAMIN HOWES has performed in Mary Poppins in both the Broadway company and on the first National Tour. His other Broadway credits are Scandalous and [title of show]. He has performed Off Broadway, most recently in The View Upstairs and National Tours include Shrek and the upcoming Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  Regional credits include A.R.T., The Old Globe, Goodspeed, Pittsburgh Public and Asolo Rep, among many others.  Film: “Miles”, “Easter Mysteries”, “Stalled” Television credits: recurring role on HBO’s “The Deuce”, “Law and Order: Criminal Intent”, “Flight of the Conchords”, “One Life To Live”. Returning to the Lyceum after having played Nellie Forbush in South Pacific and Anna in The King and I, CRYSTAL KELLOGG, plays Mrs. Banks. Broadway credits include School of Rock, Finding Neverland. National Tours include Finding Neverland, Kinky Boots, and The Pajama Game. Additional credits include: Audrey – Little Shop of Horrors (Gateway Playhouse), Grease (Tuacahn), The Sound of Music  (Surflight), Because of Winn Dixie (Arkansas Rep), The Full Monty (Riverside). TV: “Person of Interest” (CBS), “The Looming Tower” (Hulu).

DON RICHARD plays the dual roles of Admiral Boom and the Bank Chairman. Don’s many memorable Lyceum roles include Thernardier in Les Miserables (2015), Fagin in Oliver (2016), and Maurice in Beauty and the Beast (2017). Broadway credits include the original casts of Jane Eyre, Urinetown, and the 2014 Side Show revival.  National Tours include Sunset Boulevard (with Petula Clark) and Wicked. APRIL WOODALL returns to the Lyceum to play Ms. Andrews, Mrs. Corry & Miss Smythe. At the Lyceum, April has been seen in Into the Woods, Big, Little Women, Tom Sawyer, The Sound of Music, Arsenic and Old Lace, Damn Yankees, and A Christmas Carol for the past two seasons.  Other regional credits include: Maine State Music Theatre, Fulton Theatre, American Theatre Group, Mill Mountain Theater, Little Theatre on the Square, Gateway Playhouse, and Bristol Riverside Theatre. MICHAEL DEWAR is back at the Lyceum after appearing in A Christmas Carol for the past three holiday seasons to play Robertson Ay. Regional credits include Ozark Actors Theatre, Variety Children’s Theatre, Bristol Valley Theatre, Lost Nation Theatre, and Hope Summer Repertory Theatre.

The cast also includes DEBBIE LEE JONES as Mrs. Brill/Bird Woman, EMMA ANDREWS as Jane Banks, and GABE PALMER as Michael Banks. Featured in the ensemble are CAROLINE ADAMS, HOLLY DAYTON, ELIJAH DILLEHAY, DALE ELSTON, ALEX HARTMAN, TYLER JIMINEZ, DAN LUSARDI, MICHELLE MERCEDES RUSSELL, TRACY SOKAT, SAM QUINN, JULIUS WILLIAMS, and ELIZABETH YANICK.

Scenic design is by Lyceum Theatre Resident Scenic Designer RYAN J. ZIRNGIBL. Mr. Zirngibl has designed many productions at The Lyceum including Les Misérables, A Christmas Carol, Million Dollar Quartet, Around the World in 80 Days, The King and I, and Fiddler on the Roof. Resident Costume Designer GARTH DUNBAR returns after 11 previous seasons at The Lyceum where his many designs include Into the Woods, Hairspray, The Fantasticks, and Little Women the Musical. Resident Lighting Designer RANDY B. WINDER has designed over 100 Lyceum productions including Cats, A Christmas Carol, Les Misérables, Million Dollar Quartet, and The Fantasticks. TONY DEARING returns for his 26th year as Production Stage Manager and IVAN DARIO CANO returns for his third year as Assistant Stage Manager.

Single tickets for Mary Poppins are priced at $39.00 for adults. Senior, student and children discounts are available. Special Group Rates are available as well. The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre is a non-profit 501(c)(3), professional theatre located in the unique village of Arrow Rock, Missouri, a 19th century National Historic Landmark. The Lyceum has been entertaining audiences in the heart of Missouri for 57 years producing a variety of musicals, dramas and comedies. Each year, this 416 seat theatre attracts professional talent from across the country to produce an eight show season (June-December). Performers, designers, directors, and technicians take residence in Arrow Rock for five months to bring its patrons Broadway caliber productions throughout the summer. The Lyceum receives much needed support from the Missouri Arts Council.

The Lyceum Theatre is affiliated with Actors’ Equity Association, the Union for Professional Actors and Stage Managers in the United States, and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers.
