CASTING ANNOUNCED FOR THE COUNTRY MUSIC JUKEBOX MUSICAL HONKY TONK ANGELS

ARROW ROCK, MO – Casting is now complete for the foot-stompin’ musical Honky Tonk Angels. This performance, playing from September 19 – September 30, will be directed by DAVID HEMSLEY CALDWELL, returning to the Lyceum for his 20th production, and musically directed by SAM CLEIN. The production features SHARON MALANE as Darlene, ERIN MCCRACKEN as Angela, and SHELBY RINGDAHL as Sue Ellen.

Featuring the hits “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’,” ”Coal Miner’s Daughter,” “Stand By Your Man,” and many more, Honky Tonk Angels is the story of three Southern women who leave largely unfulfilling lives behind to travel to Nashville in the hopes of living their dreams. When they meet by chance on the same bus to the country music capital they quickly decide to form their own singing group, The Honky Tonk Angels, and take the town by storm.

SHARON MALANE returns to the Lyceum, after playing Belle in Beauty and the Beast last season, to play Darlene, a coal miner’s daughter. Previous credits at The Lyceum include Denise in Sanders’ Family Christmas and Smoke on the Mountain, Hello Dolly (Minnie Fay), Hairspray (Penny), and Annie (Boylan sister). Other regional credits include Grease (Sandy), Legally Blonde (Chutney), Joseph…Dreamcoat (u/s Narrator), My Fair Lady and South Pacific (Lt.J.G.Yeager) at STONC, as well as Leaving Iowa (Sis), Oystertown, and Vintage Hitchcock at the Dixie Theater. She was also in the National Tour of Hairspray playing Penny. Making her Lyceum debut, ERIN MCCRACKEN plays Angela, a married woman with unfulfilled dreams.  Erin has performed in New York City and across the country in musicals, cabarets, concert venues and recently performed with Disney Cruise Lines. Her recent portrayal of Patsy Cline in Always…Patsy Cline won her rave reviews and a Broadway World nomination for best actress in a musical. SHELBY RINGDAHL returns to the Lyceum, after appearing in Beehive last season, to play Sue Ellen, a “career woman”. Shelby is a Missouri native turned New Yorker.  Tours: Disenchanted (Snow White), West End’s ABBA MANIA (Agnetha). Off Broadway: Oh Kay! (Constance Appleton). Concert Soloist with Jason Robert Brown, Susan Egan, Jodi Benson, The Fort Worth Symphony, 54 Below, and Cincinnati Pops.

Scenic design is by Lyceum Theatre Resident Scenic Designer RYAN J. ZIRNGIBL. Mr. Zirngibl has designed many productions at The Lyceum including Les Misérables, A Christmas Carol, Million Dollar Quartet, Around the World in 80 Days, The King and I, and Fiddler on the Roof. Resident Costume Designer GARTH DUNBAR returns after 11 previous seasons at The Lyceum where his many designs include Into the Woods, Hairspray, The Fantasticks, and Little Women the Musical.  Resident Lighting Designer RANDY B. WINDER has designed over 100 Lyceum productions including Cats, A Christmas Carol, Les Misérables, Million Dollar Quartet, and The Fantasticks. RYAN MATHEW HALL is the Sound Designer, IVAN DARIO CANO returns for his third year and is the Production Stage Manager.

Single tickets for Honky Tonk Angels are priced at $39.00 for adults. Senior, student and children discounts are available. Special Group Rates are available as well. The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre is a non-profit 501(c)(3), professional theatre located in the unique village of Arrow Rock, Missouri, a 19th century National Historic Landmark. The Lyceum has been entertaining audiences in the heart of Missouri for 58 years producing a variety of musicals, dramas and comedies. Each year, this 416 seat theatre attracts professional talent from across the country to produce an eight show season (June-December). Performers, designers, directors, and technicians take residence in Arrow Rock for five months to bring its patrons Broadway caliber productions throughout the summer. The Lyceum receives much needed support from the Missouri Arts Council.

The Lyceum Theatre is affiliated with Actors’ Equity Association, the Union for Professional Actors and Stage Managers in the United States, and the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers.
