This production features KIRA HARRIS as Lenny Magrath, HEATHER SCHMIDT as Babe Botrelle, and DAKOTA MACKEY-McGEE as Meg Magrath. GRAYSON POWELL plays Doc Porter, KEVIN SEBASTIAN is Barnette Lloyd and CLAIRE GRESHAM plays Chick Boyle.
Crimes of the Heart is a zany, warmhearted and brilliantly imaginative Southern gothic tale of relationships run amok and dreams gone awry. In a hurricane of hilarity and hurt, Lenny, the eldest sister, is unmarried at thirty and facing diminishing marital prospects; Meg, the middle sister who quickly outgrew the town of Hazlehurst, is back after a failed singing career on the West Coast. Babe, the youngest, is out on bail after having shot her husband in the stomach. This story tests the boundaries of sisterhood in a world full of pitfalls and a town without pity. Rated PG-13.
KIRA HARRIS has played Emily in Our Town and Shelby in Steel Magnolias at Dana Theatre, Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at L.A. Shakespeare Co, and plays Donna on the Showtime series Billions. HEATHER SCHMIDT played Annelle in Steel Magnlias and Anne in The Diary of Anne Frank in past Lyceum seasons. Other credits include Astro Boy in Astro Boy and the God of Comics at Sacred Fools Theatre, Ophelia in Hamlet at Ensemble Shakespeare and Nina in Night Witches at LA Thrillpeddlers.
