A six-week acting course focused on Improv and Acting for the stage! This is a youth class. Must be 10 years old and up to 16 attend. Previous acting experience is not required. Space is limited to 15 students! Cost: $250 per semester. Come and be a part of this exciting event!

Classes take place weekly on Sundays from 2-3:30 pm beginning on October 25 and running through November 29, at Brown’s Chapel, 710 High Street in Arrow Rock.

Beth Leonard has appeared in numerous Lyceum productions over the years. In our 2025 season, She played the crusty, polka-dancing Fran in “Grumpy Old Men,” and brought the kindly, lethal Aunt Abby to life in “Arsenic and Old Lace.” Having been the dean of performing arts at Stephens College and then chair of theatre and dance at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington, Beth has acted and directed extensively in both professional and academic venues, but few were as close to her heart as the gem nestled in the village of Arrow Rock.

Melina Matheney works as the environmental education coordinator for Missouri River Bird Observatory based in Arrow Rock. Her passion for environmental education and curiosity of human experience has shown her how powerful stories can be in helping us connect with the places and communities around us. She’s excited to bring that same feeling to theatre camp. Through games, performance techniques, and creative play, Melina hopes to help students explore how performance can connect us to bigger ideas and shape how we see the world.
