Komi M. Gbeblewou
Komi is a Ghanaian-born actor and artist based in the United States. Though he was born in Ghana and immigrated to the U.S. at a young age, he’s proud to call both places home. Komi is thrilled to be making his debut at Arrow Rock’s historic Lyceum Theatre. Some of his recent notable credits include the French King in Henry V and Snout in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, both performed at The Old Globe. He also played Sly in Detroit ‘67 and Mr. Fitz in The Skin of Our Teeth, both of which were performed during his time at the University of San Diego’s graduate theatre program. Komi earned his B.A. in Media Studies with a minor in Theatre at the University of California, Berkeley, and went on to receive his MFA in acting (as part of Group 34) from the University of San Diego’s Shiley Graduate Theatre program. He is eternally grateful for his family’s unwavering support of his (what may seem like, at times) ridiculous daydreams, especially his brother, who always encourages him to continue daydreaming no matter how absurd and impossible they may seem. He is also grateful for his mentor and dear friend Chris, whose guidance can aptly be described as a clear and calm wave, guiding boats to shore. Lastly, but certainly not least, he is abundantly grateful for his girlfriend, Angelina, whose support, love, and dedication to excellence in her own artistic journey keep him on the path.
