Wallace McCanless
Wallace moved to Kansas City from St. Louis in 2016. While in St. Louis, he spent most of his time as a singer/songwriter pursuing a career in music. He moved to Kansas City to study sound design and music production. He received his MFA in Sound Design from The University of Missouri-Kansas City, May 2019. While in Kansas City, he had the opportunity to compose music for The Secret of Courage, The Coterie Theatre and Dracula: A Tale of Love and Death, Kansas City Actor’s Theatre. He was the sound designer for Kansas University’s 2019 production of One Man, Two Guvnors. He was also the composer/sound designer for The Fishtank Theatre’s original production: Liminal State: A Travelor’s Guide, which won The Best of Fringe at the Kansas City Fringe Fest 2017. Aside from theatre productions, he is an engineer at Element Recording Studios in Kansas City, where he still spends a lot of time recording and doing music production for local artists.
