THE FAMILY-FRIENDLY CHILDREN’S CLASSIC GOODNIGHT MOON TO ITS STAGE!

Arrow Rock, MO, January 6, 2017 — The musical based on the classic children’s storybook Goodnight Moon takes to the stage at the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre on Friday and Saturday, February 17 and 18, at 1 PM. This production makes the regional premiere of the musical and the Lyceum’s first family theatre for young audiences.

Based on the classic childhood book Goodnight Moon, written by Margaret Wise Brown with pictures by Clement Hurd, the musical Goodnight Moon was adapted by Chad Henry. As the Old Lady attempts to get Young Bunny to sleep, he insists on bidding “Goodnight” to everything in his room—and beyond! With special attention to the details from the beloved book illustrations, the playwright has crafted a charming musical that imagines lives for everything in the book, with appearances by the three bears sitting in chairs, the cow jumping over the moon, and even the Tooth Fairy!

The cast features professional Equity actors from Nashville, TN, veterans all, who have performed dozens of shows at Nashville’s famed Nashville Children’s Theatre, ranked by Time magazine as one of the top five children’s theatres in the country. Featuring Rona Carter as the Old Lady, Mikey Rosenbaum as Bunny, Amanda Card as Mouse, and Samuel Whited as the Tooth Fairy, Goodnight Moon is directed specially for The Lyceum by Shawn Knight, who helmed the Lyceum’s interactive mystery weekend this past fall and will portray the Moon.

“This musical is a charming adaptation of a book that has become a childhood favorite for many, who treasure sharing the story night after night with their children. And as a creative team, we are honored and excited to bring it to The Lyceum stage in some of the theatre’s first-ever programming geared for children,” says director Shawn Knight.

“The public shows will cap off a nearly sold-out week of school performances, during which close to 3,000 children will get to experience this classic tale as a live theatrical event. We are thrilled to be able to offer this opportunity for school children in Mid-Missouri and appreciate the support of our sponsors to help make it happen”, says Rebecca Early, Special Events Chairman.

The set, designed by resident scenic designer Ryan Zirngibl, will recreate the classic illustrations live on stage with surprises in store. Costumes are designed by Jessica Mueller, costume designer at Belmont University in Nashville, TN.

Charles Dickens’ timeless tale is brought to life
by a new cast of Lyceum favorites.

ARROW ROCK, MO, November 21, 2016 – Plan on celebrating the joys of Christmas in Arrow Rock in December! The Lyceum stage will once again be aglow with good spirits and Christmas tradition as Charles Dickens’ immortal classic, A Christmas Carol, comes musically to life starring Lyceum favorite Ron Wisniski as Ebenezer Scrooge. There will only be 12 performances running from December 14 through December 23.

The Lyceum is pleased, for the third year, to bring to life the familiar story of a seemingly heartless miser given one last chance at redemption by four visiting ghosts. On Christmas Eve Ebenezer Scrooge undergoes an incredible transformation as he views with new eyes his past, present and the possibilities of the future. A Christmas Carol is now a cherished annual tradition in Arrow Rock and is made possible through the generous support of LammTech of Sedalia.

Lyceum Producing Artistic Director, Quin Gresham, directs his adaptation of the Dickens classic. “The combination of A Christmas Carol’s timeless and heartwarming message, more than a dozen holiday songs, and a brilliant cast is certain to fill audiences with Christmas spirit,” said Gresham. “Thanks to the tireless work of Resident Scenic Designer Ryan J. Zirngibl and a new cast of familiar favorites, there will be many exciting improvements to the production that will make Scrooge’s transformation even more powerful in 2016!”

The Lyceum is pleased to announce that the role of Ebenezer Scrooge will be played, once again, by Lyceum favorite, Ron Wisniski. Mr. Wisniski originated the role in the inaugural production of A Christmas Carol in 2014, a role he has also played at Syracuse Stage. Other Lyceum appearances include the devilish Mr. Applegate in Damn Yankees, the flamboyant Roger Debris in The Producers, Diary of Anne Frank, You Can’t Take It With You and Hello Dolly. Ron appeared in the National Tours of Beauty and the Beast (Lumiere), Annie (FDR), and Tintypes (Teddy Roosevelt) and has appeared in more than 200 productions at theatres nationwide.

Harry Bouvy returns to the Lyceum playing Scrooge’s long suffering clerk, Bob Cratchit. Harry appeared at the Lyceum this past summer as John Adams in 1776. Recent credits include Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady at Montana Shakespeare and Cal in Mothers & Sons at Saint Louis Rep, directed by another Lyceum vet, Michael Evan Haney. Bouvy has also been seen Off-Broadway as Hannibal Lecter in Silence! The Musical, in Las Vegas as Sir Robin in Spamalot, and as Carmen Ghia in the National Tour of The Producers (Helen Hayes nomination).

Returning to the Lyceum for his fourth season, Elliot Dash plays the jovial Ghost of Christmas Present and Scrooge’s first employer, Mr. Fezziwig. Dash’s Lyceum credits include Tee Tot in Hank Williams: Lost Highway, the Voice of the Plant in Little Shop of Horrors, and, most recently, Hoke in Driving Miss Daisy. Credits include Gretna Theatre, Olney Theatre Center, Totem Pole Playhouse, Ford’s Theatre, Wayside Theatre, The Folger, The Acting Company, Shakespeare Theatre Company, and The South Carolina Shakespeare Company.

Playing the dual roles of Mrs. Fezziwig and Mrs. Dilber will be Lyceum regular April Woodall. April returns to Arrow Rock where she has appeared in Into the Woods, Little Women, Tom Sawyer, The Sound of Music, Arsenic and Old Lace, The Music Man, and Fiddler on the Roof. Regional credits include: Maine State Music Theatre, Fulton Theatre, American Theatre Group, Mill Mountain Theater, Little Theatre on the Square, Gateway Playhouse, Bristol Riverside Theatre; Hedgerow Theatre, Flashpoint Theatre, Center City Theatre Works, The Seaport History Museum Theatre, The Eagle Theatre, and The Devon. Barrymore and SALT nominations for the title role in Souvenir – a fantasia on the life of Florence Foster Jenkins (Montgomery Theatre; Cortland Repertory Theatre); and a Carbonell nomination for her performance of Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music (Maltz Jupiter Theatre.)

Robert Elliott returns to the Lyceum after playing the domineering Capt. Queeg in The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial to play the dual roles of Old Joe and Jacob Marley. Mr. Elliot began his career as a company member at the Missouri Repertory Theatre and at the Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival. Extensive work over the years at Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Indiana Rep, Syracuse Stage, Asolo Theatre, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, PCPA Theatrefest, Cleveland Playhouse, and Roundabout Theatre.

Making her Lyceum debut, Manon Halliburton plays Mrs. Cratchit. Credits include Utah Shakespeare Festival, Kansas City Rep, Indiana Rep, Unicorn Theater, Chester Theater Co. and Cincinnati Playhouse to name a few. She also has guest starred on Law and Order and had a recurring role of the fourth season of HBO’s The Sopranos.

New to the production are Bailey Jordan Reeves playing the dual roles of Scrooge’s first love, Belle, and Fred’s Wife, Anne, and Bernell Lassai III, Cher Desiree Alvarez, and KK Elfrink in a variety of roles.

Returning for this year’s production are Laura Sexauer as the violin-playing Ghost of Christmas past, Michael Amoroso as Scrooge’s nephew Fred as well as Scrooge’s younger self, Michael Dewar as one of Scrooge’s debtors, and Adam McCall, Michael Brennan, Paula Danner, Jonathan Brown, Julie Butner, and Paula Bear in a variety of roles.

The cast of 29 actors also features a number of young performers from neighboring communities including Lilian Buie, Simeon Buie, Cailyn Chaney, Jacob Christy, Sophia Christy, Wyatt Logan, Cooper Rainwater, Abigail Rainwater, Spencer Rainwater and Daniel Ryan.

The creative team for A Christmas Carol includes Quin Gresham (Director/Adaptor), James Woodland (Resident Musical Director), Kristen Nordstrom (Choreographer), Ryan J. Zirngibl (Resident Scenic Designer), Randy B. Winder (Resident Lighting Designer), Kerri S. ARROW ROCK, MO, September 16, 2017 – The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre is announcing a change in its 2016 New Year’s Eve Celebration plans. The Lyceum is excited to introduce a New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2016 celebration featuring the award-winning members of the Memphis Misphits! With a range of blues, boogie, and soul, The Memphis Misphits will rock in the new year with a four hour energized performance throughout the evening. “The group is comprised of internationally recognized talent from all over the country, as well as ties to many well-known bands including The Fabulous Thunderbirds. These guys are sure to put on an exciting show that will keep everyone dancing all night,” said Kevin Magee, Lyceum Director of Marketing. Previously announced headliner Matt Goss will not appear due to circumstances beyond the Lyceum Theatre’s control. Said Magee, “We needed to make alternative plans, and we are absolutely thrilled by the extremely talented, award-winning musicians who will make this such a special, unforgettable night!”

The Memphis Misphits features SUGARAY RAYFORD as the lead singer, KID RAMOS on guitar, JIMI BOTT on drums, WILLIE J. CAMPBELL plays bass guitar, ANTHONY GERACI plays piano and organ and ALLAN WALKER is on saxaphone.

When SUGARAY RAYFORD belts out a song, you not only hear it, you feel it. The excitement in the room is palpable when he takes the stage; he is a superb vocalist and entertainer. At 6’5”, his dynamic voice is large just like the man. With his old school vocal style, echoes of Muddy Waters, Otis Redding and Teddy Pendergrass can be heard, and his fluid dance steps will remind you of the Legendary James Brown. Sugaray is currently nominated for 4 BMA’s for the 2016 Blues Music Awards. The award nominations are for BB King Entertainer of the Year, Contemporary Blues Male Vocalist, Contemporary Blues Album (Southside) & Song of the Year (Southside of Town). Sugaray was also nominated for the 2015 Canadian Maple Blues Awards for BB King International Artist of the Year. Sugaray also won a 2016 Cascade Blues Award for National Recording / “Southside” album.

KID RAMOS is an American electric blues and blues rock guitarist, singer and songwriter. Ramos has released four solo albums since 1995 on Black Top and Evidence Records. He joined the James Harman’s band in 1980 and stayed playing his guitar until 1988, when he briefly helped out with Roomful of Blues. In 1994, Ramos joined forces with Lynwood Slim to form the Big Rhythm Combo. Ramos’ debut solo album, Two Hands One Heart, was released the following year. Ramos joined The Fabulous Thunderbirds in 1993, following an invitation from their singer, Kim Wilson. As well as regularly recording and appearing with them up to 2002, Ramos also continued to release his own albums, the most recent being Greasy Kid Stuff (2001). Ramos appeared at the 2005 Edmonton’s Labatt Blues Festival, playing along with the Mannish Boys. He also formed the roots quartet, Los Fabulocos, who released their debut album in 2008. In 2009, Ramos backed Bobby Jones at the Notodden Blues Festival. 1999, 2000, 2001 WC Handy nominated, best blues record of the year, best blues guitarist, best song winner 2001, and recipient of the 2014 OC music Award Lifetime achievement award.

JIMI BOTT was the 2015 Blues Music Awards blues drummer of the year. In 2014 he was an NW Cascade Blues Association inductee into the blues music hall of fame. After being named drummer of the year 12 times the award is now call the “Jimi Bott Blues Drummer of the Year”. He has performed on over 90 released Albums and played with many of the great blues men of the past and present most notably; The Fabulous Thunderbirds, The Mannish Boys, Rod Piazza, Albert Collins, Earl King, Snooky Pryor, Luther Tucker and the list goes on. He is known worldwide as one of the best blues drummers of any generation.

WILLIE J. CAMPBELL was born in Motown and influenced by American Music. Early on Willie spent many nights hanging out at the Golden Bear, listening to the likes of BB King, Freddy King, Albert King, Muddy Waters, Johnny Winter, etc. Willie’s first band, Southern Select Blues Band, was comprised of his brother Scott, Dave Lee Bartel, and Tom Lai. After a short run they formed a Rockabilly band called The Red Devils. That band would later morph into The Red Devils featuring Lester Butler, Paul Size, Bill Bateman, and the Bartel brothers. Willie spent the next 10 years with The James Harman Band. “James was an incredible mentor, he notes.” Willie honed his skills playing alongside an all-star lineup which included: Hollywood Fats, Gene Taylor, Stephen Hodges, and Kid Ramos. Willie was fortunate to back up or share the stage with a “Who’s Who” in Blues, Soul, Rock, and Punk music. Following the James Harman Band, was a six year run with The Fabulous Thunderbirds. This was another great band that included Kim Wilson, Gene Taylor, Kid Ramos, and Jimi Bott. Willie has been with The Mannish Boys for the last seven years. He has played alongside Finis Tasby, Randy Chortkoff, Bobby Jones, Sugaray Rayford, Jimi Bott, Kid Ramos, Kirk Eli Fletcher, and Franck Goldwasser. Willie has been honored several times by the Blues Foundation with nominations for instrumentalist, band, and record of the year. The Blues Music Awards have been a mainstay in recognizing a slice of Americana.

ANTHONY GERACI has a long history in the American Blues Community. He is an original member of Sugar Ray and the Bluetones and Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters. He has toured with Otis Rush, Big Mama Thorton, Big Joe Turner, J.B. Hutto, Big Walter Horton, Chuck Berry and Jimmy Rodgers to name just a few. He has backed up blues legends Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Buddy Guy, as well as rock legends such as Van Morrison, J. Geils, Peter Wolf, Steve Miller and has been a “Blues Brother” with Dan Akroyd, Jim Belushi, and John Goodman. Anthony was a member of the original House Of Blues (Cambridge, MA) Blue Monday Band where he also backed many touring blues musicians including Little Milton, Jr. Wells and a then unknown Keb’ Mo. His latest recording Fifty Shades Of Blue (Delta Groove) earned three 2016 Blues Music Awards nominations including Album of the Year, Traditional Album of the Year, Song of the Year for the title track as well as an individual nomination for the prestigious Pinetop Perkins Piano Player of the Year from the Blues Music Awards/Blues Foundation Memphis, TN. Grammy nomination for Super Harps I (Telarc) that features Charlie Musselwhite, James Cotton, Billy Branch and Sugar Ray Norcia. Anthony has also been featured on more than 40 recordings. He has recorded with Blues Pioneers Big Walter Horton, John Brim, and Big Jack Johnson. Modern Blues Artists he has recorded with include Debbie Davies, Kenny Neal, Sugaray Rayford, Duke Robillard, Ronnie Earl and Sugar Ray and the Bluetones. Anthony has an undergraduate degree from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and Masters of Arts Degree from Skidmore College Saratoga Springs, NY with a concentration in Jazz studies.

ALLAN WALKER is a jazz saxophonist with deep roots in R&B and a resume that includes tours and recordings with some of the biggest names in the music business. By the time he was fifteen, he was good enough to start accompanying artists from Motown, Stax, King, and other major labels at the time who needed a pick-up band when they played between D.C. and Miami. But his career started to really take off at the age of sixteen when he began recording and touring nationally and internationally with acts like The Temptations, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, The Coasters, The Drifters, Little Anthony and the Imperials, and countless others. In the late 1960’s, already a successful and in-demand player, he started to become seriously interested in jazz. He was inspired by the likes of Clyde “Fats” Wright, an excellent pianist, and Don Pullen, the amazing pianist/organist that Allan got to play with whenever he was in town. He was privileged to perform at one of the last dinners honoring Richard Pryor at for the first Mark Twain Awards Ceremony at Lincoln Center, which included luminaries like Robin Williams, Chris Kristofferson, Danny Glover, Morgan Freeman, Chris Tucker and Ruth Brown. He attended a private fund raising party at Will and Jaden Smith’s house for President Obama (where he got a chance to kiss the first lady), and started working with some major blues players, like Roy Gains, Sugaray Rayford, for whom he arranged several horn parts on his Blind Alley CD, and many others. Ralph Carter, the music director for Eddie Money and Sugaray, offered him the opportunity to record and arrange horn parts on many songs for some Jane Fonda videos, which led him to performing live on the “Today Show” with Fonda. Since then, he has played on many CD’s as a sideman, horn arranger, and soloist and released his own CD project in 2014.

The Lyceum Theatre Presents The Arrow Rock Premiere of Million Dollar Quartet

ARROW ROCK, MO, September 1, 2016 – The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre presents the Tony award-winning Broadway musical, Million Dollar Quartet, September 7 through September 18, 2016.

They came together to make music. Their story made history. Million Dollar Quartet is the Tony award-winning Broadway musical inspired by the electrifying true story of the famed recording session that brought together rock ‘n’ roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for what would be one of the greatest jam sessions of all time. Featuring timeless hits such as “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Great Balls Of Fire,” “Walk The Line,” “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” “Fever,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Hound Dog” and many, many more, this thrilling musical brings you inside the recording studio with four major talents who came together as a red-hot rock ‘n’ roll band for one unforgettable night. It was rock ‘n’ roll’s best kept secret…until now!

David Hemsley Caldwell returns to the Lyceum to direct Million Dollar Quartet. The production features CHRISTOPHER FORDINAL as Elvis Presley, JOHNNY KINNAIRD as Johnny Cash, JEFFERSON MCDONALD as Jerry Lee Lewis, JAMES BARRY as Carl Perkins, BEN NORDSTROM as Sam Philips, STEPHANIE LYNNE MASON as Dyanne, ERIC SCOTT ANTHONY as Jay Perkins, and JON BROWN as W.S. “Fluke” Holland.

Making his Lyceum debut, CHRISTOPHER FORDINAL plays Elvis Presley. Some of Christopher’s previous credits include: Elvis in Million Dollar Quartet (Flat Rock Playhouse, Arts Center of Costal Carolina), Buddy Holly In Concert (Flat Rock Playhouse), and Little Princess with Andrew Lippa (Final Workshop).

Also making his Lyceum debut, JOHNNY KINNAIRD plays Johnny Cash. Johnny spent three years with the original production of MDQ in Chicago and later joined the New York cast. Most recently Johnny played Mr. Cash at Flat Rock Playhouse. Other recent roles include John Lennon in the Off-Broadway production of Lennon:Through A Glass Onion, Jim in Pump Boys & Dinettes (Geva Theatre Center, Cape Playhouse) and the young male principal in Ring of Fire (Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Totem Pole Playhouse).

Playing Jerry Lee Lewis, in his Lyceum debut, is JEFFERSON MCDONALD. Recent Credits include Spike in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (Asolo Rep, St. Louis Rep, Cincinnati Playhouse), Romeo in Romeo and Juliet (Asolo Rep), Al Joad in The Grapes of Wrath (Asolo Rep), Ernst Ludwig in Cabaret (Lake Dillon Theatre Company), and George Haverstick in Period of Adjustment (Wellfleet Harbor Actors’ Theatre).

JAMES BARRY, making his Lyceum debut, plays Carl Perkins, a role he played for 2 years on the 1st Nat’l tour, recently at the Gateway Playhouse, and looks forward to performing later this fall at The Ogunquit Playhouse. Playing the part of recording impresario Sam Philips, is BEN NORDSTROM. Ben is a regular at the Lyceum, recently having played Lt. Thomas Keefer in The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial. He is a resident of St. Louis, where he has been seen in Macbeth, Next Fall, [title of show], and Urinetown at Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, Mamma Mia, The Buddy Holly Story, and Billy Elliot at The Muny, and How To Succeed…, and Promises Promises at Stages, as well as work with Shakespeare Festival St. Louis, Tennessee Williams Festival, HotCity, New Jewish, Mustard Seed, OnSite, and Echo. Regional work includes the Alley Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse, Great Lakes Theater Festival, Arvada Center, and Theatre Raleigh.

Making her Lyceum debut, STEPHANIE LYNNE MASON plays Elvis Presley’s girlfriend, Dyanne. Stephanie is coming from the recent Broadway Revival Cast of Fiddler on the Roof. In addition to touring the country as Dyanne in the National Tour of Million Dollar Quartet, her regional credits include Louise in Gypsy, Tzietel and Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof, and Maria in West Side Story.

Returning to the Lyceum and playing the part of Jay Perkins, Carl Perkins’ brother, is ERIC SCOTT ANTHONY. Without the guitar, Eric has performed in West Side Story (Tony) and 1776 (John Dickinson) at the Cumberland County Playhouse, and the Padre in Man of La Mancha at the Flat Rock Playhouse. A Native of St. Louis, Eric was a section leader and soloist with the St Louis Symphony Orchestra Chorus.

Playing the part of W.S. “Fluke” Holland, the drummer, is Lyceum regular JON BROWN. Jon is a professional musician based in St. Louis, MO. ARROW ROCK, MO – The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre presents the electrifying courtroom drama, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, August 20 through August 28, 2016.

An idealistic navy lieutenant facing court martial for mutiny passionately defends his conduct as the only conscionable option. Lt. Maryk’s action to save the USS Caine is put on trial against the military command structure personified by Captain Queeg, an odd man whose leadership skills are sorely tested. Do the ends justify the means? This typhoon of a play, adapted by Herman Wouk from his Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, is the quintessential courtroom drama.

Making his Lyceum debut, WILL ROTHHAAR plays Lt. Stephen Maryk, on trial for wrestling control of the U.S.S. Caine from its domineering captain. Based in Los Angeles, Will has appeared on all of the CSI’s, Castle, NBC’s Grimm, and the Lizzie Borden Chronicles. He was in Battle: Los Angeles, and is most recently known for portraying Lee Harvey Oswald in National Geographic Channel’s Killing Kennedy. Also making his Lyceum debut CRAIG WESLEY DIVINO plays Lt. Barney Greenwald, a skeptical lawyer grudgingly defending Lt. Maryk. Craig’s New York City credits include Fault Line Theatre, Nightcap Riot, Happy Few Theatre Co, Guerrilla Shakespeare, Atlantic Theater, NYTW. Regional credits include Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Tennessee Shakespeare, Living Room Theatre, Kitchen Theater, Virginia Arts Festival, SpeakEasy Stage Company, Chautauqua Theatre Company, Trinity Rep. Craig is co-founder and co-Artistic Director of Fault Line Theatre.

JEFFREY C. WOLF plays Lt. Com. John Challee, a well set up lieutenant who is prosecuting the case. Earlier this season, Wolf played Nick Arnstein in Funny Girl, Mr. Sowerberry/Dr. Grimwig in Oliver!, John Hancock in 1776 and Simon Mostyn in Murder on the Nile. His many Lyceum credits also include King Arthur in Camelot, C.K. Dexter Haven in The Philadelphia Story, Billy in Anything Goes and Carmen Ghia in The Producers. MICHAEL ROTHHAAR, a Lyceum regular, plays the captain presiding over the trial. Previously at the Lyceum, Mr. Rothhaar recently directed The Murder on the Nile, as well as South Pacific in 2015 and Witness For The Prosecution, A Murder Is Announced, and My Fair Lady. As an actor, he has appeared on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in various feature films, as well as in numerous television series.

Playing Lt. Com. Philip Francis Queeg, the domineering Captain of the U.S.S. Caine, is ROBERT ELLIOT, revisiting this role after first playing it almost twenty years ago at The Repertory Theater of Saint Louis. Mr. Elliot began his career as a company member at the Missouri Repertory Theatre and at the Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival. Extensive work over the years at Repertory Theatre of St. Louis and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, and Indiana Rep. Other theatres include: Syracuse Stage, Asolo Theatre, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, PCPA Theatrefest, Cleveland Playhouse, Roundabout Theatre. Most recently seen as Donnie in American Buffalo at KC Rep and Norman in On Golden Pond at Indiana Rep.

Playing the part of Lt. Thomas Keefer, The U.S.S. Caine’s communications officer, is BEN NORDSTROM. A regular at the Lyceum, Ben Is a resident of St. Louis, his work there includes Macbeth, Next Fall, [title of show], and Urinetown at Repertory Theatre of StL, Mamma Mia, The Buddy Holly Story, and Billy Elliot at The Muny, and How To Succeed…, and Promises Promises at Stages, as well as work with Shakespeare Festival StL, Tennessee Williams Festival, HotCity, New Jewish, Mustard Seed, OnSite, and Echo. Regional work includes the Alley Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse, Great Lakes Theater Festival, Arvada Center, and Theatre Raleigh. BFA, Webster. Making his Lyceum debut, PATRICK E. PHILIPS plays Signalman Third Class Junius Urban. He recently appeared in Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati’s productions of Luna Gale (Peter) and Violet (Virgil, Billy Dean, Company). Patrick was a member of the 2014-15 Acting Intern program at Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati where he performed in Love and Information (Ensemble) and Sleeping Beauty (Branch/Dragon). Other recent regional credits include Henry VI Part I with Cincinnati Shakespeare Company, Saint Joan and Relatively Speaking with Diogenes Theatre Company, and Mockingbird with Falcon Theatre. Returning to the Lyceum and playing the part of Lt. Willis Seward Keith is BLAKE PRICE. Blake was recently seen at the Texas Shakespeare Festival playing Billy Bigelow in Carousel, Gratiano in the Merchant of Venice, and Ely/Nym/Burgundy in Henry V. Playing the part of Captain Randolph Southard is BILL BAER. Bill most recently played Caesar Rodney in 1776 at the Lyceum. Currently, Bill is the Director of Performing Arts at Father Tolton Catholic High School in Columbia Missouri. WHIT REICHERT plays Dr. Forrest Lundeen. Whit was last seen in Fox on the Fairway as Dickie, Murder on the Nile as Dr. Bessner and 1776 as Ben Franklin. Other Lyceum credits include J. B. Internationally, Mr. Haney has directed shows at the English Theatres of Vienna and Frankfurt as well as the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The Lyceum Theatre Presents The Arrow Rock Premiere of Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Nile

ARROW ROCK, MO – The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre presents Agatha Christie’s mystery Murder on the Nile, July 23 through July 30, 2016.

Fatal circumstances await a newlywed couple as they embark on their honeymoon voyage down the Nile. Simon Mostyn has recently married Kay Ridgeway, a rich woman, having left his former lover Jacqueline. The couple is on their honeymoon and is at present on a paddle steamer on the Nile, surrounded by a bevy of unforgettable characters. Among them are Canon Pennefather, Kay’s guardian, and Jacqueline, who has been dogging their footsteps all through the honeymoon. During the voyage, murder and mayhem ensue!

MICHAEL ROTHHAAR returns to the Lyceum to direct Murder on the Nile. DAKOTA MACKEY MCGEE, plays Kay Mostyn who is, reportedly, the richest girl in England. Dakota is returning after two winters of playing Belle and Anne in Arrow Rock’s A Christmas Carol. This season at the Lyceum, Dakota played Bet in the production of Oliver! and Martha Jefferson in 1776. Other Lyceum credits include Fiddler on the Roof (Hodel), Steel Magnolias (Shelby), Murder is Announced (Julia), and Hank Williams Lost Highway (Waitress). As her newlywed husband, JEFFREY C. Playing the part of Helen Ffoliot-Ffoulkes, a wealthy snob, is ANNE MARIE BILLS. Anne’s favorite performances at the Lyceum included roles in last summer’s Spider’s Web and Rumors, along with And Then There Were None, The Man Who Came to Dinner, It’s a Wonderful Life: A Radio Play, and Hairspray. Though Anne has performed in theatres across Missouri, Georgia, Michigan, Iowa, and Tennessee her favorite job is teaching middle school students at Gentry Middle School in Columbia all about the wonderful world of Theatre. Making her Lyceum debut, BETSY HELMER plays Christina Grant, Miss Ffoliot-Ffoulkes’ niece. She most recently played Rosalind in As You Like It at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. Other Theatre Credits Include: King Lear, Alice in Wonderland, A Christmas Carol, Broken Spokes, The “T” Party, and Sweeney Todd. TV Credits: Shadow of Doubt and American Supernatural. ARROW ROCK, MO – The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre presents 1776, July 4 through July 16, 2016.

The seminal event in American history blazes to vivid life in this most unconventional of Broadway hits. With quick-witted dialogue and a playful score, 1776 dramatizes the struggle in Philadelphia’s Second Continental Congress to declare independence. John Adams, the original innovator behind America’s Declaration of Independence, teams up with Benjamin Franklin, Richard Henry Lee, and Thomas Jefferson to battle those in Congress who oppose the movement to declare independence from England. Inspired by the letters and memoirs of America’s founding fathers, this classic, Tony Award-winning musical showcases the principles, pride and determination that influenced the birth of our nation.

Making his Lyceum debut, Harry Bouvy plays John Adams. Bouvy most recently played Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady for Montana Shakespeare in the Parks. Other credits include Caucasian Chalk Circle (Yale Rep), Angels in America (Syracuse Stage) and four one-man shows: I Am My Own Wife, Chesapeake, Fully Committed and This Wonderful Life. He played Carmen Ghia and Leo Bloom in the national tour of The Producers (Helen Hayes nomination), Sir Robin in the Vegas Company of Spamalot, and Nathan Detroit in Guys & Dolls at Great Lakes Theater. Film and television credits include The Producers, “The Good Wife,” “Law & Order,” “Sex & The City.” Whit Reichert returns to the Lyceum playing Ben Franklin, a role he played in the Lyceum’s 2006 production. He was last seen during the 2013 Lyceum season in six different productions, the last one being Hank Williams: Lost Highway as Fred “Pap” Rose. Lyceum audiences will remember Whit’s memorable performances as J. B. Biggley in How To Succeed…, George Macmillan in Big, The Musical, Osgood Feilding in Sugar, Max in Sound Of Music, Grandpa in Meet Me In St. Louis and Al Lewis in The Sunshine Boys. Making his Lyceum debut, Michael Padgett plays Thomas Jefferson. Also making her Lyceum debut, Hannah Jane McMurray plays Abagail Adams. Playing the role of Edward Rutledge is Andrew Foote. Andrew was last seen at the Lyceum in 2015 as Luther Billis in South Pacific and Jean Valjean in Les Misérables, a role he has performed around the United States to much acclaim. Foote has toured nationally in Les Misérables, Ragtime, and Annie. Regional credits include Evita (Che) and Ragtime (Tateh) at the ZACH theatre, in Austin TX, South Pacific (Luther Billis) at the Gateway Playhouse in NY, Les Misérables (Jean Valjean and others), at The Palace Theatre in NH, Fireside Theatre in WI (2014 Broadwayworld.com award winner) Houston’s Theatre Under the Stars, Riverside Theatre in FL and Weathervane Theatre in NH. Mr. Foote will be seen in the upcoming production of Disney’s Hunchback of Notre Dame at the Sacramento Music Circus and The 2016/2017 Korean Company of Jekyll & Hyde. Returning to the Lyceum, Michael McKenzie plays John Adams’ chief antagonist, John Dickinson. New to The Lyceum, Rob Langeder plays Richard Henry Lee. Langeder’s New York credits include Rip Van Winkle in Rip! (Midtown International Theatre Festival), Broadway Revival (MAC Award), Any Place I Hang My Hat, and Undead In Hell’s Kitchen. U.S. Tour: Ritchie Valens in Buddy. Japan Tour: Prince in Cinderella. Don Richard returns to the Lyceum to play Stephen Hopkins. Don first appeared on The Lyceum stage in 1989 and was recently seen in the pivotal role of Fagin in Oliver!. Don was also seen during the 2015 Season as Thenardier in Les Misérables and Clem Rogers in The Will Rogers Follies. Broadway credits include the original casts of Jane Eyre, Urinetown and most recently, the revival of Side Show. For seven years, he toured America and Canada with Wicked, and also appeared in the national tour of Sunset Boulevard featuring Petula Clark. Arthur Lazalde, recently seen as Bill Sykes in Oliver, plays Col. Thomas McKean. Off-Broadway credits include The Widowing of Mrs. Holroyd (Mint Theatre Company), and As You Like It (Harold Clurman Theatre Lab). Lyceum Producing Artistic Director, Quin Gresham, directs the production. During the 2015 season, Mr. Gresham directed Stand By Your Man and his adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Past directing credits at The Lyceum include Around the World in 80 Days, Cotton Patch Gospel, Love Letters (starring Tab Hunter and Joyce DeWitt), The Music Man, Camelot, To Kill A Mockingbird, Run For Your Wife, The Fantasticks, The Producers, Hairspray, Sleuth, West Side Story, Into the Woods, Tuesdays with Morrie, Dracula, Peter Pan and Driving Miss Daisy. After several stints as dance captain in various productions, Paula Danner is the choreographer for 1776. Paula’s Lyceum Theatre credits include Damn Yankees, The Music Man, Wizard of Oz, Funny Girl and both productions of A Christmas Carol.

Now in his 13th season, Lyceum Resident Musical director JAMES WOODLAND will serve as Musical Director and Conductor for 1776. James is the retired head of the BFA Acting Program at Missouri State University, and, in previous years, he was head of the Musical Theatre programs at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and the University of Miami. Professionally, James has musical directed at North Shore Music Theatre, Flat Rock Playhouse, Brian C. Smith’s Off-Broadway at 26th Street Theatre, Florida Shakespeare Theatre, Maryland Shakespeare Festival, Coconut Grove Playhouse, Hope Summer Repertory Theatre, and Stages St. Louis.

Scenic design is by Lyceum Theatre Resident Scenic Designer RYAN J. ZIRNGIBL. ARROW ROCK, MO – The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre presents Ken Ludwig’s unforgettable round of comedy, The Fox on the Fairway, August 6 through August 13, 2016.

From the playwright who brought us Lend Me A Tenor, The Fox on the Fairway turns the Lyceum into “the clubhouse” as the audience is taken on a hilarious romp which pulls the rug out from underneath the stuffy members of a private country club. Filled with mistaken identities, slamming doors, and over-the-top romantic shenanigans, The Fox on the Fairway is a very funny show about an even funnier game – golf! Two rival golf clubs square off in an annual competition with fortunes on the line, and everything depends on the fragile psyche of a promising young golfer.

PETER REYNOLDS returns to the Lyceum to direct The Fox on the Fairway. The production features JEFFREY ZICKER as Justin, BETSY HELMER as Louise, MICHAEL MCKENZIE as Bingham, JUDI MANN as Pamela, WHIT REICHERT as Dickie, and ANNE MARIE BILLS as Muriel.

Playing Pamela, the vice-president of the country club, is JUDI MANN. Judi most recently played Mrs.Sowerberry/Mrs. Bedwin in Oliver! She is an award-winning actress and writer, (2014 Critics choice – Best Actress in a comedy). Judi briefly appeared Off Broadway, toured the country with Carol Channing in Hello Dolly, and in St. Louis, she has appeared at most of the Equity theaters. Judi has appeared in or voiced numerous television & radio commercials, and films, most recently, a horror feature, The Nameless.

WHIT REICHERT plays the cocky and arrogant Dickie, Bingham’s rival and the Executive Director of Crouching Squirrel Country Club. Playing the part of Muriel, Bingham’s wife, is ANNE MARIE BILLS. Anne’s favorite performances at the Lyceum include roles in Murder on the Nile as well as last summer’s Spider’s Web and Rumors, along with And Then There Were None, The Man Who Came to Dinner, It’s a Wonderful Life: A Radio Play, and Hairspray. Though Anne has performed in theatres across Missouri, Georgia, Michigan, Iowa, and Tennessee and teaches middle school students at Gentry Middle School in Columbia.

The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre Brings to Life Charles Dickens’ Beloved Novel and Lional Bart’s Enduring Musical Oliver!.

ARROW ROCK, MO – The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre will take audiences on a wild adventure through Victorian England with Oliver!. Performances take place June 18 through June 26, 2016.

Join young, orphaned Oliver Twist as he navigates London’s underworld of theft and violence, searching for a home, a family, and, most importantly, for love. When Oliver is recruited by the Artful Dodger, he is welcomed into a gang of child pickpockets led by the conniving, but charismatic, Fagin. When Oliver is falsely accused of a theft he didn’t commit, he is rescued by a kind and wealthy gentleman, to the dismay of Fagin’s violent sidekick, Bill Sykes. Caught in the middle is the warm-hearted Nancy, who is trapped under Bill’s thumb, but desperate to help Oliver. With spirited, timeless songs like “As Long As He Needs Me,” “Food, Glorious Food,” and “Where Is Love,” Oliver!is a musical classic.

Returning to The Lyceum,Lighting Designer JONATHAN REED is currently the Production Manager for Yale Repertory Theatre and Assistant Professor at the Yale School of Drama Technical Design and Production program. Costume Designer MOLLY AKIN-MCKINLEY is an alum of Mizzou, and currently attends The University of Alabama where she is pursuing her MFA in Theatre: Design and Production. Resident Sound Designer Ryan Matthew Hall returns for his eighth season. At the Lyceum he has designed Les Miserables, The King and I, Spamalot, The Producers, To Kill A Mockingbird,Fiddler on the Roof, and many more.Tony Dearing returns for his 24th year as Production Stage Manager and Ivan Dario Cano serves as Assistant Stage Manager.

The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre Announces Casting for the First Three Productions of its 56th Season!

ARROW ROCK, MO – The Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre is pleased to announce casting for the first three productions of its 56th year of providing professional theatre to the heart of Missouri: Funny Girl, Oliver!, and 1776. The season continues with Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Nile, Ken Ludwig’s The Fox on the Fairway, The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, Million Dollar Quartet and Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.

Funny Girl (June 1 – June 11) will star Hannah Shankman as Fanny Brice, Mary Jo Mecca as Mrs. Brice, Cary Tedder as Eddie Ryan, and Lyceum favorites Jeffrey C. Wolfas Nick Arnstein and Michael McKenzie as Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr. A Lyceum Premiere of one of Broadway’s most acclaimed musicals, Funny Girl tells the story of legendary entertainer Fanny Brice’s rise to fame, from her start as a bit player in vaudeville to becoming a headliner in the famed Ziegfeld Follies.

Making her Lyceum debut as Fanny Brice is Hannah Shankman who has performed on Broadway in Wicked, Les Misérables, Side Show and Hair. In the West End Shankman has been seen in Hair and Homemade Fusion in Concert. Her national touring credits include Les Misérables and Rent. Playing Fanny’s mother is Mary Jo Mecca, making her Lyceum debut. Mecca’s credits include Pride & Prejudice (Center Stage), Brighton Beach Memoirs (Portland Stage), Superior Donuts (Geva Theatre), Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady, Big River(Sacramento Music Circus), Sweeney Todd (Casa Manana), White Christmas (Syracuse Stage), Little House on the Prairie (Guthrie Theatre), Man of La Mancha (Alabama Shakespeare), Amour (Goodspeed), Jekyll & Hyde (Alley Theatre), and Jerry Herman’s Showtune (Pasadena Playhouse). Also making his Lyceum debut as Fanny’s friend, Eddie,Cary Tedder’s Broadway credits include The Times They Are A-Changin’, Memphis, Big Fish, Honeymoon In Vegas, and most recently Dames At Sea. Returning to the Lyceum for his ninth season to play Nick Arnstein is Jeffrey C. Wolf. Wolf’s many Lyceum appearances include King Arthur in Camelot C.K. Dexter Haven in The Philadelphia Story, Billy inAnything Goes and Carmen Ghia in The Producers. Also returning to the Lyceum Michael McKenzie will play famed producer, Florenz Zeigfeld, Jr. Lyceum credits include Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady, And Then There Were None, Meet Me in St Louis, Fiddler on the Roof, and The Nerd. (June 18 – June 26) stars Columbia’s own Spencer Rainwater as Oliver Twist, Lyceum favorite Don Richard as Fagin, Emily Afton as Nancy, Cole Nowlin as The Artful Dodger, and Arthur Lazalde as Bill Sykes. Oliver! takes audiences on a wild adventure as young, orphaned Oliver Twist navigates London’s underworld of theft and violence, searching for a home, a family, and, most importantly, for love.

Playing Oliver Twist, Spencer Rainwater returns to the Lyceum after having performed inA Christmas Carol, The Will Rogers Follies, The Music Man and The Wizard of Oz. Also returning to the Lyceum is Don Richard in the pivotal role of Fagin. Richard has been seen on Broadway in the original casts of Jane Eyre, Urinetown and most recently, the revival ofSide Show. For seven years, he toured America and Canada with Wicked, and also appeared in the national tour of Sunset Boulevard featuring Petula Clark. Making her Lyceum debut in the role of Nancy, Emily Afton has performed on Broadway in Hair and on the National Tours of Hair, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and I Love a Piano. Regional credits includeWaitress (A.R.T.), A Funny Thing…Forum (Goodspeed), and Les Miserables (Maine State). Playing the Artful Dodger, Cole Nowlin returns to the Lyceum after appearing as Gavroche in last season’s Les Misérables. With quick-witted dialogue and a playful score, 1776 dramatizes the struggle in Philadelphia’s Second Continental Congress to declare independence and showcases the principles, pride and determination that influenced the birth of our nation.

New to Lyceum audiences, Harry Bouvy plays our most “obnoxious and disliked” founding father, John Adams. Bouvy’s credits include Caucasian Chalk Circle (Yale Rep), Angels in America (Syracuse Stage), Carmen Ghia and Leo Bloom in the national tour of The Producers (Helen Hayes nomination), I Am My Own Wife (Hangar Theatre), Fully Committed(Hartford TheatreWorks), Sir Robin in the Vegas company of Spamalot and, for a year and a half, he played Hannibal Lecter and Dr. Chilton in the off-Broadway smash, Silence! The Musical, and can be heard on the original cast recording.
